“We, as organizations and individuals concerned with children in the Caribbean, support an end to all physical and other cruel, humiliating or degrading punishment of children. We call on our governments and parliaments to enact law reform to prohibit all corporal punishment in all settings of children’s lives – schools, care settings, the penal system and the family home – and to work to implement the prohibition and eliminate corporal punishment in practice.”
